A Gentle Way to Find Focus and Get Things Done:

VIRTUAL GROUP BODY DOUBLING

get-organised-and-beyond-virtual-group-body-doubling-02

Do you struggle with procrastination, initiating tasks, or sustaining focus? Perhaps you feel paralysed, overwhelmed by your to-do list, or stuck on just one simple task, feeling the hours slip by without any meaningful progress.

This crushing inertia, often called task paralysis, leaves you feeling guilty and like you're constantly playing catch-up.

If this sounds familiar, you are certainly not alone. This cycle of lack of focus and guilt is incredibly common, especially among neurodivergent women juggling life's demands.

But there is a simple, powerful, and incredibly affordable technique to break this cycle, called

Body Doubling

I deliver this proven method through supportive Virtual Group Sessions designed to provide the gentle accountability and structure you need to finally get things done.

What is Body Doubling and How Does it Stop Procrastination?

Body doubling is a simple yet effective productivity method. You work on your own task while someone else works on theirs at the same time, in the same physical or virtual space.

It's not about being watched or being coached; it’s about shared, quiet accountability. The presence of other people ("body doubles") provides external structure to help your brain overcome the inertia of starting and stay focused on tasks.

Kind Words

"When I first heard the term 'body doubling,' I was thinking... 'what is this? Is there finally a way I get to clone myself and become even more efficient?' However, even as organised and efficient as I normally am, general life has been dizzyingly mad recently and my To Do List had become a thing of loathing rather than my usual helpful tool of calm and order. Body doubling helped me turn that around."

- Siobhan Casey

"I found the session very helpful and am feeling like I would not have done it if it were not a live accountability group."

Is Body Doubling Only for ADHD, Autism and Neurodivergent People?

Body doubling is a concept that is often tied to ADHD, autism and other forms of neurodivergence. This is because it provides an external solution to internal struggles with executive function (the mental skills required for planning, initiating and managing tasks).

However, the truth is that anyone who struggles with procrastination will benefit immensely. Whether it’s due to life stress, anxiety, or simply having a very busy brain, many people struggle to start tasks or sustain their focus.

By knowing that others are working alongside you - not judging, not distracting, just present - you can break through task paralysis.

Our Virtual Group is a Simple, Reliable Solution to Getting Things Done

You've tried timers, you've tried apps, and you've read all the task management books. But why does online body doubling succeed where other methods fail? The answer lies in the group accountability and its protective structure.

I’m not providing any coaching during these sessions. My role is simply to host the space and facilitate the 5-50-5 structure (explained below) to boost your motivation and productivity.

The accountability is gentle - you commit to a task, and the group provides the supportive pressure to follow through. This is what truly fuels the process of getting things done when you are working on your own.

By joining this dedicated online body doubling group, you eliminate the endless distractions and internal friction that lead to failure. We become your dedicated accountability partner for work or personal tasks.

Kind Words

"Working alongside an online group, you commit to a task to get done in the one-hour slot. The accountability and encouragement of working in a group works really well, much like exercising with others. In addition, breaking things into small, manageable tasks makes them more achievable. I highly recommend Nathalie’s body doubling sessions."

- Shilpa Karia

Boosting Your Motivation Through External Regulation

The way body doubling is structured provides the external regulation needed to jumpstart the brain:

  • Normalisation: Knowing that other smart, capable women are also struggling with procrastination on similar tedious tasks immediately removes the feeling of shame. This normalisation helps to regulate your nervous system.
  • External Commitment: The simple act of saying your task out loud to the group provides a level of commitment that works better than a note in a journal. You are committing to yourself and your accountability partner group.

This process gives you a positive target to look forward to, making task management feel achievable instead of terrifying.

Kind Words

"I LOVE your body doubling sessions. I love that I can aim to get one particular task done within that 1-hour time frame, but when it ends up being completed quicker than I had anticipated, I can get 2 or even 3 other tasks done in that space as well. Felt productive again - just what my soul needed! Working on your own can be lonely, but when you have a group of people all coming together to supportively be more efficient, there is a gentle sense of accountability within it."

- Siobhan Casey

How Virtual Body Doubling Group Works: The 5-50-5 Model

Our virtual body doubling sessions are live group sessions, not one-on-one pairings, and are structured to provide maximum focus while respecting your brain’s need for gentle transitions. You will be joining me (your host) and a supportive small group of up to nine other participants.

We meet online for one hour:

First 5 Minutes: Setting our focus intentions

Each participant briefly shares what they’ll be working on. This public declaration is vital; it is your gentle commitment that drastically increases the chance of follow-through.

I encourage you to spend a moment before joining each session to select the one specific task (or small list) that needs your attention most. This ensures you get the maximum value out of your 50 minutes - you are the expert on your priorities!

Next 50 Minutes: Deep focus

Everyone mutes their microphone, turns off their camera (if preferred, or you can leave it on for that extra visual accountability), and focuses on their task.

This is your protected, distraction-free work block. The goal is to give you 50 minutes of focused work, using the gentle accountability that comes from knowing others are working alongside you.

Last 5 Minutes: Progress check-in

We’ll come back together for a quick check-in to celebrate our progress - no matter how small!
This moment allows your brain to transition out of the deep focus block and reinforces the positive feeling of achievement, making it easier to initiate tasks next time.

You might even feel motivated to carry on with your task or the rest of your to-do list!

Body Doubling Tasks You Can Bring to Our Sessions

You can bring any task you like to our online body doubling sessions, especially those mundane tasks or 'adulting' duties. This easy technique works best on those tasks that should be simple in theory, but feel overwhelming or draining to start, such as:

  • Tackling paperwork and digital clutter: Dealing with emails, organising files, digitising documents, or clearing out that mountainous inbox.
  • Household admin: Paying bills, submitting medical claims, meal planning, or scheduling appointments.
  • Decluttering and organising: Tidying or rearranging a small physical space, like a single drawer or bookshelf.
  • Work-related tasks: Writing a report, preparing for a meeting, or completing long-term projects that require uninterrupted concentration.
