In a previous post, we examined the reasons for creating routine in your schedule. This month I’ll give you some practical tips on how to create your weekly schedule.
Dealing with procrastination
Procrastination is a tough habit to break. Even though I teach my clients practical solutions to deal with procrastination, I must say that there is much more to addressing procrastination than time management skills. In fact, I believe that before attempting to find solutions, you should ask yourself these 2 simple questions.
Why adopt a routine schedule
Do you ever feel like there just aren’t enough hours in a day to get things done? That you have little time if any to do the things you truly enjoy? Are you struggling to juggle work and family? Well, these are common issues that many of my clients face. And my first recommendation is almost always to adopt a routine schedule where they assign a time and day in their week for all the activities that are important to them, whether it is driven by a professional target or by a personal aspiration.
How I got more done when I quit being a perfectionist
We all complained that we haven’t got enough time for the things we have to do, and even less so for the things we enjoy doing. But how many of us are happily entertaining our perfectionist side? Well I know it’s pretty ironic for someone considered as an expert in time management to admit this, but I am… It’s taken me a very long time to realise that no matter how big my achievement was, the satisfaction I was deriving from it was very short lived. In the meantime, in my quest for perfection, I had sacrificed sleep, family time and personal time – maybe some would add sanity!
The 3 Must-Have Time Management Tools
Do you ever feel like there just aren’t enough hours in a day to get things done? That you have little time if any to do the things you truly enjoy? That you are struggling to juggle work and family? Well I have developed an introductory time management coaching programme to address just these issues. In this programme I help my clients put in place 3 tools that are indispensable to regain control over their time and sanity. Interested to know what these tools are?
Time management lessons learned from a taekwondo grading
December is always a good time to reflect on what has happened during the year. 2015 was marked for me by my 2nd dan grading in taekwondo. I’m pleased of course not only for the achievement itself but also for all the learnings that came with this journey. I’ll focus here on the 3 main lessons that I’ve learned or been reminded of and that can be transferred to an organising project.
Making New Year resolutions come true – A matter of determination or time management skills?
Happy New Year! January, the month of new hopes for the future… Some of you have probably come up with new year resolutions. I don’t always do but I have this year. I want to live in the moment. I am often told that I usually achieve my resolutions because I have a high level of determination. True, but I think determination alone is not enough and that time management skills, more often than not, play an important role in achieving our resolutions. Why? Read on!
All things organised!
Hello! Welcome to my blog! I’m Nathalie Ricaud, a Professional Organiser, based in Singapore. I help individuals and families de-clutter and organise their home, their belongings, their paper and their time so that they can make the most of their lives. I know it may sound weird to some of you, but I derive a lot of satisfaction when I help transform a cluttered and chaotic space into an efficient and harmonious space.
